Public office is a public trust. The people of Alaska deserve elected officials who are honest, transparent, accountable and willing to do what is right – even when it isn’t the easiest or most politically popular choice.
I believe integrity means keeping your word, listening respectfully to those who disagree with you, and being transparent about the decisions you make. It means putting the interests of people ahead of politics, special interests or personal gain.
As your representative, I will work to earn your trust every day by being accessible, responding to constituents, explaining my votes, and making decisions based on facts, principle, and what is best for our community and state.
Elected officials do not have all the answers but they should have the humility to listen. I believe good leaders are willing to listen, even when they disagree. Some of my best conversations have been with people who see issues differently than I do. Those conversations have helped me better understand the concerns of our community and have strengthened my own thinking.
I believe people deserve representatives who keep their word, are honest about the challenges we face, and are transparent about the decisions they make. If I make a commitment, I will work hard to keep it. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll tell you-and then I’ll do the work to find it.
Integrity also means being a good steward of the resources taxpayers have entrusted to us. Every dollar the government spends comes from hardworking Alaskans, and we have a responsibility to spend those dollars wisely and responsibly.
Above all, I believe public service is exactly that – service. It isn’t about titles or recognition. It’s about showing up, listening well, treating people with respect, and working every day to leave our community stronger than we found it.
